eCLARE
eCLARE started
as a creative writing magazine, founded in order to offer Clare’s
poets, playwrights and storytellers the opportunity to see their
work in print and to share it with the College community. By encouraging
those who write and those who enjoy reading creative poetry and
prose, eCLARE aims to provide an arena for the creation, appreciation
and discussion of expressive literature.
eCLARE is now appearing
annually as a section of the relaunched "Lady Clare" Arts
magazine, retaining individual society status and individual editorship.
Contributions come from
undergraduates, graduates, and fellows, ranging from sonnets, through
theatre pieces to diary extracts.
This year there is a
poetry prize of £50, generously donated by Clare Poetry Society,
for the best undergraduate entry, and we're hoping to continue this
tradition and eventually manage financial independence, funding
eCLARE with money from benefactors and the increased profits that
will result from it being included in a more general Arts magazine.
The first edition will
be out next term, and we're still inviting submissions.
Thanks,
