A gift in your will

Many members of Clare may wish to give financial support to their College, but are prevented from doing so by everyday commitments. Leaving a gift in your will is something that anyone, young or old, can do, and it can be done quickly and at little cost.

The majority of gifts which the College receives through legacies go towards endowing specific areas of expenditure, such as bursaries, prizes or studentships. The amounts do not have to be large, and the different mechanisms of giving can ensure that family and friends are provided for as well as the College. Clare's charitable status means that gifts to the College are exempt from Inheritance Tax, and any legacy you bequeath to Clare may also reduce the overall tax liability due on your estate.

Whether you give £3,000 to endow a named prize to reward academic achievement, £30,000 to endow a student bursary, or £300,000 to endow singing lessons for members of the world-famous Clare Choir, your gift counts.
