Clare Partnership for Schools
The Clare Partnership for Schools exists thanks to the generous support of KPMG, Clifford Chance and Morgan Stanley. The scheme provides funding so that the college can run outreach initiatives in the East London boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Hackney. In particular, the partnership draws on the experience and expertise of its sponsors to provide support to talented school students in these areas.
Initiatives
The partnership's principle aim is to raise aspirations and ensure that exceptional students achieve their potential and have the support they need to do so. As part of this, we run a Mentor Scheme every year for 30 year 12 students. This consists of four sessions, held at the offices of each of the four sponsors (including Clare), and which focus on improving interview skills, how to write a good personal statement, how to choose a university and course, and how to get through the university applications process. Students work with mentors taken from each of the three sponsoring companies, as well as students from the college. Participants in the scheme are also automatically invited to our Interview Preparation Day in October.
If you are a student or teacher from Tower Hamlets or Hackney and you would like to apply for the scheme then please contact the SLO at schools@clare.cam.ac.uk.
Bursaries
Clare also offers a small number of bursaries to students from the three Boroughs who come to study at the college. These bursaries are aimed particularly at students who are eligible for partial or full remission of their fees, as assessed by the Local Education Authority. For further information please contact the SLO at schools@clare.cam.ac.uk
We are very grateful to Linklaters, KPMG, Allen & Overy, and Clifford Chance for making these bursaries available.
