School Liaison Project

Back to Admissions

Clare College is committed to encouraging good applicants to apply to Clare and the University, regardless of their school or background. To help with this task, Clare employs a full time Schools Liaison Officer, Rachael Morris. If your school wants help and advice about Cambridge aplications, or is interested in visiting Clare college and the University, please get in touch, or read on for more information.

LINK AREAS

The majority of undergraduate Colleges at Cambridge are linked to one or more Local Authority, where they work to improve access to higher education and to Oxbridge. To see which college is working in your area click here. Clare College is linked to the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and so most of our access work is focused on East London but we welcome enquiries and applications from all geographical regions. In the last few months we've worked with schools and students from Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Lancashire, Cardiff and more. For more on our link area work please see the Clare Partnerships for Schools page.

From 2008/09 We hope to begin work on projects in the Coventry and Warwickshire area.

EVENTS IN CAMBRIDGE

Clare College welcomes visits from Schools of all types. Small parties can visit the college for an informal look around the college throughout the year, although we ask you to check with the Schools Liaison Officer and book your visit before travelling to the College.

For larger school parties you may find it helpful to book a more structured day visit, although availability is limited and early booking is encouraged:

Informal Open Days for Sixth Formers

If  you have a large number of potential applicants and cannot book into a prearranged open day the Schools Liaison Officer can give tours, admissions talks, application workshops and answer any Cambridge related questions in house. To enquire about availabilty please get in touch.

Aspiration Visits for Years 9-11

For younger groups the Schools Liaison Officer can provide taster days with the opportunity to experience life at University, academic activities and tours. These sessions can be tailored to the age group and subject interest where possible.

EVENTS IN SCHOOLS

If you have in house UCAS days, Oxbridge specific evenings or Teacher Training requiring input, workshops and talks from a Cambridge Representive then the Schools Liaison Officer may be available to visit your school.
