Postgraduate and Fellowship Opportunities

In common with most other Cambridge Colleges, Clare elects Fellows into two main classes of Fellowship:

  • Teaching Fellows are appointed from time to time to meet specific teaching needs in the College. Most Teaching Fellows already hold a University post, but others are also appointed as College Lecturers and are paid a full salary by the College.
  • Junior Research Fellows are elected following an annual competition, which is normally advertised from October to December, with a closing date in mid-December. The competition selects one candidate from the arts or humanities, and one from the sciences.

In addition, a number of other Studentships are offered from time to time by the College, as they become vacant. The terms of these Studentships are often similar to those of a full Research Fellowship, depending on the academic status of the holder. A full list of these studentships can be found on the Scholarships and Finance page of the Graduate Admissions section, under "Support from Clare College".

All of these posts are advertised in the ‘News Box’ on our Home Page when they are open for application.
